I recently have been watching the A&E DVD release of Supercar and am experiencing many of this episodes for the first time. Supercar was never a favorite of mine as I found it to be very static and childish. Oddly enough I love Fireball Xl5 but Supercar just didn't do it for me. Watching it now, I really am finding an appeal to the series. Not only do I enjoy seeing the progression of the effects and puppet techniques, but the many of the stories are fun and entertaining.

I agree! I had only ever seen bad VHS copies of a couple of episodes until the DVDs came out. I'm really amazed at some of the writing, acting and the level of some of the humor in the show.

Yes I totally agree! I am also watching it for the first. Like most of the Supermarionation shows its all new to me again! Just a note if you watch Fireball Xl5 episode "A Day In the Life of a General" a mailman comes to Lt. Ninety's door, but if you look close thro the smoked window glass of the door the mailman looks like Mike Mercury! Gerry Anderson re-used old puppets through out all his series. Steve Zodiac was re-used in Stingray too!!! lol

Yes, SuperCar is a lot of fun. I really like the design of the characters and vehicle of course. This is a show that I always wondered what it would look like in color. But the episodes are very entertaining. |
